My daughter will be a month old tomorrow. I have my checkup next week and want to talk to my doctor about birth control. We'll be using condoms of course, but we were using them when I got pregnant (not that she wasn't wanted, just that we were taking a break from trying). Anyway, what do you reccomend? I either want an oral birth control or the patch. I don't want anything put into my body that I'll have to go back to have removed. Any suggestions or reccomendations would be appreciated.Best form of birth control after having a baby?
well, it sounds like you have it narrowed down, take a look at http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-鈥?/a> and you can find information on both these types. No one can say what will work for you-you will find good and bad stories with both methods. If you have any concerns or questions your doctor is always the best source of information. Good luck!Best form of birth control after having a baby?
are you breast feeding? you cant breast feed it you take a pill or the patch. Mirena ios the only birth control i know of that you can be on and still breast feed, thats what i plan on using, and plus i got pregnant on the pill (i wouldnt change it for the world though) so i naturally want to try a different form of birth control after our baby girl is born. Talk to your doctor maybe he or she has some ideas for you on what is good or recommended. If you aren't breast feeding then i would use the pill because there are so many different variations of the pill, and i believe they are cheaper for more supply them the patch is
Well if your good at remebering to take your birth control pills everyday then the pill works fine. If your not so good about it the probably the patch would be better but it can cause some skin irritation. I personally loved the Mirena IUD but you said you didn't want anything inserted. You could go for the depo shot which you get every 3 months but sometimes you can gain alot of weight from it. i would just talk to your OBGYN and let them help you find whats gonna work best for you.
If you are breastfeeding, you can't use either the regular pill or the patch. For hormonal method, your only option would be the mini-pill. Or you could rely on Lactational Amenhorrhea Method (LAM) if you qualify -- 99% effective if you are fully breastfeeding, less than 6 months post-partum, and haven't yet had a period.
If you are not breastfeeding, I'd probably go with the ring -- less to remember as a busy new mom.
Oral BC's are great as long as you are strict on taking your pills when you are supposed to.
The patch, I haven't heard much about...
But the shot I have heard is the best (most effective and foolproof) and it only has to be done every three months. One pop and you're done! And you can bring the little ones since it's so quick.
i took loestrin 24. i didnt like it at first but my periods were amazing. no cramps or anything and they were only about two days long. plus thats the lowest amount of hormones you can take not to get pregnant so they seem better. i stopped taking mine, thats what i dont like. i feel pregnant. lol but it will go away. congrats on the baby and good luck
what worked for me without a problem for 5 years was the IUD,after i had it removed i tried birth control pills for a year after but it did not work for me as i could not remember to take it everyday especially at the same time.so its really up to you
I went on Yasmin after having my daughter. I've been on it ever since and she is now 6 years old.
Maybe not having it...lol
