I am in a committed relationship and am sick of the pill, don't want to do depo shots. I have narrowed it down to Implant of IUD. Any expert advice? What is the best form of birth control aside from abstinence?
The IUD does not make you fat, at least not the one I used (without hormones). I actually preferred the IUD over the pill for that reason. I do have one precausion, though. I had my IUD in for over 2 years and had an active sex life with my fiance without any pregnancy ';scares';. After the 2 years, we ended up getting married and the IUD decided not to work anymore and I became pregnant. We found out soon enough so that the IUD could be removed without disrupting the pregnancy and now I'm five weeks away from giving birth. What is the best form of birth control aside from abstinence?
The vaginal ring such as Nuvaring is great. It releases hormones continuosly for a month and can't really be felt by your partner during intercourse.
dont use an IUD they can be dangerous and invasive. if you dont want to use hormone treatment then condoms or a diaphram are probably the best way, but just say no to an IUD. they pretty much just dont allow a fertilized egg to implant.
The IUD makes you fat. Have you ever asked your partner to use condoms? Maybe give that a try.
