I am wanting to go on a form of birth Control and i am wondering if Implanon rods are good?

I am just wanting to know from people who have had them if they are good i am overweight and i have read that they don't know how successful they are for overweight people anyone know any different?

I have implanon fitted and Im in my last year of it. I love it. I dont have a clue about wether it is less effective if you are overweight, i've never heard that before but talk to a family planning consultant and see what they say. I fell pregnant on the pill twice so I don't trust it. With implanon, my periods are extremely irregular, i can go 6 months with no period then have three in one month or it can be regular for a few months and then go all skew wiff lol. A lot of women are worried about the side effect of putting on more weight but I had mine fitted after my son so was still carrying a lot of baby weight and still managed to loose it. Your best bet is to go to a family planning clinic or doctor and talk about your options. Similar to the implant is the injection-its the same chemical but you have to go every three months I think and get it injected into you rather than the implant that just automatically releases the chemical into your blood stream. The mini pill os also the same mix of hormones as the implant. I was on it as a trial before I had the implant fitted. The side effects my body experienced would have been similar to the implant.
