What is the best form of birth control?

I'm thinking of getting birth control but I'm not sure which kind I should get. I'm leaning torwards the depo provera shot because it stops your periods over time but I'm not exactly sure. I want the least amount of periods or none at all. What do you think is the best form of birth control?What is the best form of birth control?

I don鈥檛 recommend the shot. I did it 2 months ago and I regret it b/c I researched the Side effects and it鈥檚 just not worth it. I really don鈥檛 think that any birth control method that stops your monthly cycle is good for your health.

i did the norplant route and my period stopped for the 5 yrs i was on it and didnt have to worry bout missin pills or shots. also i was a much easier person to get along with when it was suppose to be that time of month .
Personally I think shots, those implant things or a coil are good as you can forgot about them, I was always forgetting to take the pill, I always knew when I had fogot but it was a pain in the butt. Only use these methods if you are with a very steady partner and you have both had all your STD's checks, done. Its just not worth the risk these days.
I dont think the shot is best because it has been known to cause weight gain,much more than the pill. I think you should look into Lybel- a birth control pill that lets you have no period, but possibly some spot bleeding occasionally. If you want a low estrogen pill, Loestrin Fe is a good one. (my friend takes this and i am looking into it.) as well as ortho-tri cylcen lo. I also have a friend who takes Seasonal which gives u about 4 periods a year. Yaz is a good brand if you suffer from pmdd (serious pms mood problems) and acne. Ortho tri cylen has been approved for acne as well. So basically i would ask your gyno or clinic about the new pill that allows u to not have a period-think its lybel or just tell him/her what you want in a birth control option and they will let you know what is best. you may be interested in an iud (intra uterine device) instead, its a ring inserted in you that you can not feel which provides great protection from pregnancy and only has to be changed every year.
