';Straight couples are becoming rare';- That's bull. Gays will always make up a very small percentage of the population.





And it's not that there's more homosexuality, it's that more people are being open about it. People have engaged in homosexual activity forever. It's only in recent times that some societies have become more tolerant of it.
It might be more like an unintended consequence. There could be a social 'soul' that responds to overcrowding. For instance, the birth rate in the US was the lowest in our history during the depression in the 1930's. At that time there were no reliable methods of birth control other than abstinence.


Is there actually an increase in the % of homosexuality or is it just increased numbers due to increased population over all?
no its just that gay people are more comfortable in coming out nowadays. and the population is increasing, so therefore the proportion of gay people will be higher.
Well, I guess it is a form of birth control. LOL
