In what ways do gender roles serve as a form of social control?

Now in today's time, both men and woman are doing the same things for control. For an example, I'm a guy and I have to do the laundry because it's just me, my father, and my brother living in the house. Both father and mothers have to cook for the family, when back in the days the mother did all the cooking. Hope I helped. In what ways do gender roles serve as a form of social control?
Little girls can't grow up to be President -

Oops! Hillary might just shatter that control.

That is an example of some uppity woman destroying the fabric of society. In what ways do gender roles serve as a form of social control?
'back in the day' women had their choice of becoming a nurse, a teacher, or a housewife - now they go to college and be whatever the hell they want to be - thanks to feminism.

End of control.

Is an afro on a white male an effective form of birth control?

What is the most effective form of appetite control?

i am trying to lose weight, but i get way too hungry to resist the fattening foods ive always been eating, so i need to know the msot effective/least fattening way to control my appetite, anything you recommend from protein bars/shakes to a special pill. thanksWhat is the most effective form of appetite control?
simple and cheap - DRINK WATER!What is the most effective form of appetite control?
check this link ...

http://www.freedieting.com/
hyroxy cut is a great appetite pill and for food, fiber. Soy proteins shakes also control your appetite very good. I do all of them and im losing weight like crazy, healthy weight too. good luck
I'm currently taking hydroxycut and it keeps the hunger cravings to a minimum. I used get hungry and just cave and head to jack in the box but I don't have to anymore. Also, my own little trick is Iced Green Tea with NO sweetener from Starbucks. It's fresh and yummy and good for you. If all else fails, when you're hungry eat some fresh veggies or chug a bottle of water. Good luck!
Try eating small portions six times a day instead of 3 bigger meals. Drink at least 8 - 8 oz. glasses of water each day. Find a low cal food that you really like and use that whenever you get ';desperate';.

Other things will work for the short haul, but weight loss for life i.e. take it of and keep it off, means changing eating habits.
i haven't had breakfast yet and it is after noon i have to take a pill every morning and wait half an hour to eat after so gum suppresses my appetite i get awfully hot during the day so i try to mix juice with water in bottles or leave wedges of citrus in a glass of water in fridge to have handy , and i like v8, fruit veggies squash squashes what sugar does and you can eat zucini raw, and try veggies in spaghetti, like zuc.
Here's a good eating schedule

Breakfast

Mid-morning snack (fruit or vegetable)

Is Mountain Dew a reliable form of birth control?

1.5 liters daily? Is Mountain Dew a reliable form of birth control?
Only if you leave the bottle inserted. Is Mountain Dew a reliable form of birth control?
Yes it works but only if taken correctly. First you must fill your bathtub all the way to the top with the magic green soda. Then lie face down and fully submerged for at least 2 hours without breathing. I promise you that you will never have children after this. The world will thank you.
Don't be so ridiculous!
Are you using it as a post-coital douche? I think if you drink enough Mountain Dew, it eventually causes sterility.
Sure! The yellow artificial coloring will give you cancer and you won't have to worry about having kids! Seriously, please don't breed.....
Are you kidding me? mountain dew does lower a guys sperm count, just like anything else with caffeine in it but not enough to prevent getting a girl knocked up.
Just as much as Y!A is reliable for accurate answers!
k, im going to pray that your not serious lmao, but no soda , let alone mountain dew WILL *NOT* keep you from getting pregnant... wow people come up with dumber and dumber stuff everyday.
That would have to be a big NO. Stick to condoms or birth control, maybe even both to make double sure.
That's an absolutely ridiculous myth. Whoever told you that it works should be slapped.
I always get my junk stuck in the bottle, so I suppose it is reliable.
ARE YOU SEROUS....YOU CAN'T BE SEROUS....THIS IS A JOKE ...RITE??
Yes because anyone with any common sense would not sleep with someone who drank that nasty crap.
no it is not a reliable

Obviously.
Well, you would be too busy peeing to do anything else.
Of course! The pills are a TOTAL ripoff!

mountain dew + sex in a hot tub = no chance of reproduction.
ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT ARE BLACK JOKES
Works like a charm
What? No? how would that even work? There is no scientific research into it. Where did you even hear that?
Yada yada yada, no it isn't.
No.
that is a myth

Yes i went to the health dep. and they gave me a box full!

How is surveillance a form of control?

can someone explain to me how surveillance is a form of control? How is surveillance a form of control?
Constant surveillance tends to control behavior -- it always worked for my Mom, anyway.

But the government is NOT my Mom, even though they keep trying to pass and enact laws that would ';surveil'; me from cradle to grave, to make certain I conform to whatever standards they deem important. How is surveillance a form of control?
With the eye in the sky and a camera on every stop light.............people know that they are being watched.........therefore...............鈥? Not being able to do what they want to do without it being recorded.

  • Do amish people use condoms or any form of birth control?

hi im doing an amish project and im just wondering if the amish people use condoms or birth control.

how do they keep from having like 20 kids

also im wondering what is the average amount of kids in an amish family.Do amish people use condoms or any form of birth control?
No they don't use ant form of birth control. They only have sex for the purpose of concieving, which is why the average number of kids in an Amish family IS about 20....Do amish people use condoms or any form of birth control?
I grew up in the largest amish community in the world, and they do not believe in any kind of birth control, no pills, no condom, average amount of kids is 8-12
amish ppl have no use over birth control that is why they can always raise a bloodline community
the only time they practice sex is when they plan on having a child.
    They breed like rabbits.
amish people put it in reverse.
they do have about 20 kids
    i really dont think so..
that is such a good question!!!!!!!!!!!! i'll go ask my so-called-friends....

Does anyone here use the withdrawal (pull out) method as a form of birth control?

Just interested in how common it is and how effective it can be.

Thanks!Does anyone here use the withdrawal (pull out) method as a form of birth control?
along with a spermicidal latex trojan condom.

safe not sorry.Does anyone here use the withdrawal (pull out) method as a form of birth control?
I'm not sexually active but if I did I would never use that method. Too risky. I would probably be having a permanent panic attack until my next period. Not worth it.
Pre-*** has sperm in it; not a good idea, use a condom or get on the pill unless you want a kid.

    :)
iv done that many many times... i was with a guy for two years and did that everytime and never got pregnant. but then i did it with my SON'S father too... and got pregnant!! so i suggest if your not trying to get pregnant either dont have sex at all or find a birth contol that works for you.. the (pull out) method is a gamble....
1:I am only 12!Im not sexually active...

2:No,I wouldn't do it because im not stupid...that is the WORST form of protection...pre-***....
Two of the guys I've been with have used it. If a guy is going to use the withdrawal method, he must have the ability to know when he is about to ejaculate so he can pull out. However, there's also pre-ejaculation which still contains sperm. Remember, it only takes ONE sperm to fertilize an egg and cause a pregnancy. I've used different forms of birth control: withdrawal, birth control pills, and condoms. I probably felt the most ';safe'; with condoms and the pill. If you use each one individually, they have over a 99% effectiveness rate, while withdrawal is nowhere near as effective.

You can get pregnant no matter what type of contraceptive you use. Some women get pregnant on the pill. If you want the best kind of protection though, use condoms or the pill. I haven't gotten pregnant, but I strongly advise people to not use the withdrawal method.

    I hope this helps :)
From guys point, ive never used a condom and always did the pull out method for me its very effective since I still remain without having a child but it depends on the guy some guys get so caught up in the moment they wont use common sense as to when to pull out a guy needs to have control of himself in intercourse for it to be any bit effective. This is not a real means of birth control though you should be taking other measures to insure protection because even though the guy pulls out it has been proven semen can be in the pre ejaculation which is a point when a man would still be inside the female. So between me having control and some luck I have avoided being a father but I will be taking better steps to insure I stay this way until im ready for a child so bottom line if you can avoid a guy wanting to go natural and use a condom get him to do so especially if your not very familiar with the person and consider getting contraceptive for yourself as well as added protection. Best of luck
I have read studies about it and it shows to be only 2% less then condoms. But then why would one call it pull and pray? Its not worth it. I would practice it if i was on the pill and married cause you have some accident room. Use a condom always to protect against STD's and unwanted pregnancy's. Altot of things can go wrong with it.
It's about as effective as doing a rain-dance before you have sex without protection.

Sperm is not just released during ejaculation, men also excrete ';pre-ejaculate'; which contains sperm. When I was conceived, my mother was using the pulling out as a form of birth control. You can see how well that worked for her.
The withdrawal method is not really a method at all. It's more like pull out and pray. Men begin to leak semen as soon as they become aroused. Having it in unprotected for any amount of time, even if he doesn't climax, can lead to pregnancy.

Is there any form of birth control that doesn't inhibit a fertilized egg from implanting?

I want a birth control that stops ovulation and possibly thickens the cervical mucus. But I am against having one that changes the endometrium (which reduces the likelihood of implantation by the fertilized egg).

Once an egg gets fertilized (off chance or not) it's an embryo and a living thing and it's too late for me to stop it. That is my baby. I don't think the general public realizes how birth control actually works. Most people think it only suppresses ovulation. See the website for the generic form of orthotryciclen.

http://www.drugs.com/cdi/tri-sprintec.ht鈥?/a>Is there any form of birth control that doesn't inhibit a fertilized egg from implanting?
Yasmin. Is there any form of birth control that doesn't inhibit a fertilized egg from implanting?
NOT ovulating is a BAD thing. You need to ovulate and menstruate on a regular basis or you run the risk of all kinds of cancers and other diseases.

Why would you want to thicken cervical mucus? To impede the transportation of sperm? Why don't you just use a barrier method such as condoms, diaphragms, cervical caps?
As far as I know, you're just looking at condoms and spermicide. The current IUD's have the progestin(sp?) hormone imbedded in them so that would be out.
I don't know of a birth control that strictly surpresses ovulation. Maybe certain pills, but you would have to ask your doctor and do your own research. I do know that Depo works like the pill, but also reduced the endo so that an egg can't implant, and that is obviously not what you want. And an IUD kills sperm, but the most popular kind also contains a hormone that works like the pill.
Depo Provera will stop the egg from being released...and in turn, will stop your periods. But I don't think it actually changes the uterine lining.

Isnt mainstream religion just a form of mind control invented by governments to control their citizens?

Or do you believe that the bible is a book full of history with accuracy?

and Why are so many stories are left out of the bible?

in all religions , there is the option of Eternal damnation, thus scaring people blindly into their greedy clutches, all in the name of their god or gods.

    Try and prove me wrong.

PS- All religions were created by humans to explain what can't be explained because they were helpless to the elements at the time.Isnt mainstream religion just a form of mind control invented by governments to control their citizens?
Has there ever been a society through history that DIDN'T try to use a concocted or adopted religion in order to exercise communal social control ?Isnt mainstream religion just a form of mind control invented by governments to control their citizens?
You know there are other religions other than Christianity that don't have the same ideals, and certainly don't have the same need for their followers to always be apologising for their sins?

Religion is often something people cling to to feel safe. Governments in the past have manipulated this, sure, but it's not an all or nothing thing.
God is a fictional character/idea designed to explain the (at one point) inexplicable world to the layperson and, in later times, to control populations by instilling morals and values.

    What Jesus accomplished in life:

    -Take up carpentry

-learn some magic tricks (Get really gullible people to watch)

-Casually preach good will (But make his message unique)

-Come up with an overly elaborate back-story about where 'mankind'' came from (Have it involve talking snakes, people love that stuff)

    -Stage his own death

-';Come back to life'; (Wink, wink)

-Say that he had a good reason for dying (Work it into his whole 'elaborate back story for mankind' thing somehow

-Flee to Mexico after saying he's heading off to Heaven (Or some other utopia he made up)

-Get some guys to hand out pamphlets

-Start a few wars, divide up society, hold back technology and the scientific progression of mankind, deem a few natural behaviors 'unacceptable'
Doubtful since many governments ban religion when tyrants take over. But that's just based on history.
I sell propane and propane accessories.
    i dont really know

Does anyone know of a natural form of birth control?

I'm looking for a natural form of birth control, like some food that you eat and it lowers your furtility, or something else, that's just an example. Please let me know if you know of anything. ThanksDoes anyone know of a natural form of birth control?
Fertility Awareness Methods (FAM), or Natural Family Planning (NFP), is a possibility. it involves combined use of calendar, temperature, cervical mucus, and other observations to determine when you're fertile. take a look at www.ccli.org and also Google the Billings method.Does anyone know of a natural form of birth control?
    Just dont have sex...problem solved
    one word, anal.
    golf
    Abstinence
Using a condom is better solution...Y worry about that??
    ya, abstinence.
I don't think there are any foods that lower your fertility. People are suggesting abstinence, which I know isn't the answer you are looking for, because obviously you want to have sex. Try this site www.pregnancy.org/pregnancycalendar.com

This may help you find the days that you are most fertile.

You can also you the ';pull out method'; or track your ovulation cycle, but that takes a lot of dedication. You can also try periodic abstinence once you know when it is most likely that you will pregnant. *
There are none, other than blowjobs.

    Another alternative, anal.
The only safe sex is no sex.

Condoms and birth control pills are not 100% safe so there is no way a ';natural form of birth control, like some food'; would be either.

If you don't want to take the pill, which is fair enough, try condoms and spermicide. Also, condoms are a good idea as they help protect againest S.T.Is

You could see your Family Planning Clinic or a similar organisation. I am not sure about this, but I think that some churches (such as some local Catholic parishes) have advice on such issues.

The bottom line is, sex can result in pregancy no matter what you use and if you're not prepared to face that issue, you're not prepared to have sex.
    abstinence
    Abstinence

Supposedly if the male sits in hot water say a hot tub for a period of time before a sexual encounter it lowers his sperm count
    pull out....
Yes, abstinence is a natural form of birth control. I guess if you are a MacGuyver type of person, you could make a condom out of some leaves and stuff.
Put your nana on lockdown. No entrance=no baby.
Sure and so do you,, there is one sure proven method.. it's called.........DON';T HAVE SEX.. other then that and short of altering your organs / tubes.. NOPE, no other proven method that is 100%.
Sorry to say, but abstinence would be the most ';natural'; form of bc.
No, fortunately not - you wouldn't want to be eating food that will muck around with your hormonal levels and creating more problems than it should. I suggest you think of 1. abstaining 2. pharmaceutical options - combined oral contraceptive pills/patches/vaginal rings 3. barrier methods.
Well, there's no food out there that is going to create a barrier against pregnancy. There is FAM-fertility awareness method, which is fairly involved and requires keeping a strict record of your menstrual flow, basal temps, cervical fluid, etc. so you can predict your most fertile time of the month. I wouldn't suggest this if you aren't serious about keeping a detailed chart of your cycle. If you are - there is a fantastic book- Taking Charge Of Your Fertility- which will guide you through the process. Other than that, there are some condoms (a bit more expensive) that are latex-free if you are sensitive or allergic. Good luck- and bear in mind that putting the effort in to prevent pregnancy is a lot easier than dealing with an unplanned pregnancy!
when i told my doctor that i didn't want to be on birth control she told me to start taking a multi-vitiamin. no joke.
The only natural form of birth control is abstinence. And even that didn't work for Mary, mother of Jesus.
There are a few time based methods. These really require an amazing understanding of your own body and cycle as well as a huge level of trust for your partner. Time based methos include the pull-out method and only having sex during points in your cycle when becoming pregnant is highly unlikely (but never impossible). these methods are significantly less effective than oral contraceptives and/or condoms and are not recomended for teens or those in casual relationships. check out www.plannedparenthood.org for more info on these and other methods.

Do liberals consent to the use of birth contol? Is abortion considered a form of birth control?

No, a lot of liberals would never use abortion, I know many who feel very strongly about that.Do liberals consent to the use of birth contol? Is abortion considered a form of birth control?
Birth control is used to PREVENT an unwanted prenancy. Didn't you know that?Do liberals consent to the use of birth contol? Is abortion considered a form of birth control?
we make a choice. i was married at 21 and waited till 28 to have a child. i am very fertile. we would have had 100 kids if not for the pill. is that being responsible. i think not. we had 1 child and that was enough. my wife and my choice. who cares what you think
I consent to the use of birth control. And no, abortion is not birth control. Birth control stops the pregnancy from occurring in the first place. I think it is retarded that people think that anyone uses abortion for birth control. It is an expensive and invasive procedure, whereas condoms and birth control pills are not.
    http://mypage.direct.ca/w/writer/anti-ta鈥?/a>
Ah another right-winger trying to make the claim that birth control methods are chemical forms of abortion aye?

    When will the irrationalism end?
Depends on who you ask. I say no.
Liberals like birth control because it means they can screw around without any consequences. And, in the occasion that the B control doesn't work, their plan b is to murder the innocent baby, because the baby is just too inconvenient for them.
I'm a Democrat and I do use birth control, and no, I don't believe that abortion should be used as birth control.
many libs use it like control..my wife has a friend who is crazee liberal and has had 3 abortions.
What on earth has being a Liberal got to do with it???

Doesn't the same question apply to left and right etc?

Or are you just trying to make a stupid point but are too s**t scared to do it properly? or maybe just too dumb?
I read the entire sex education ';program'; that the UN is encouraging. Funny, because under that, in the BIRTH CONTROL section of education, it talks about wanting to teach about the reasons for an abortion. But of course liberals will deny it, they think you can get an abortion for any reason.

    http://www.unhcr.org/refworld/type,THEMG鈥?/a>
abortion technically is birth control, but most people don't agree with it as a form of birth control. i find it hypocritical though that most republicans tell these girls they need to keep their children, but don't support plans that help single mothers. =)
Everyone consents to Birth Control. That means to not let the Sperm travel up into the egg thus producing a fetus. It is called Prevention. Abortion is not a form of birth control. It is murder. To kill the tiny sperm that has already entered into the egg. Abortion kills the egg that is now called an Embryo. Abortion is Murder.. DAH, big difference there. Not only Liberals, but many Republicans believe the same thing. Stop Picking on the Liberals.
Who cares ? Cons have no intentions of taking care of the children that they save from being aborted so maybe it IS best to abort them
    Some do, some don't.
Conservatives are the ones who try to bar birth control and family planning from publicly funded health and aid programs.

Liberals believe that readily available birth control would prevent many abortions.
Abortion has a much richer significance to the average infanticidal liberal. Feminists in particular view abortion as not just a form of birth control, but as a source of political empowerment, which says a lot about them. When one derives ';empowerment'; from the murder of others, especially helpless infants, there's something inherently wrong with your belief system.

  • Ladies, what do you think about the NuvaRing form of birth control?

Have you used it? And if so did you like or dislike it and why?

I am currently on the birth control pill and I was also in the past and it seems like I have gained weight both times while on it, and I want to change, I have been on the patch and the shot and neither one worked out for me, so I am either going to stay on the pill or switch to the ring. I would really like to give the ring a try, so please give me your opinion!! Thanks so much!Ladies, what do you think about the NuvaRing form of birth control?
Nuva Ring is great. I've been on it for about two years now and I think it's wonderful. You put the ring in for three weeks and take it out for one week (that week you will get your period). I've had no bad side effects. My periods have gotten lighter and shorter, down from 6-7 days to now 3-4 days. You only have to think about it every few weeks, so there's no forgetting

What form of Birth Control can be started without waiting for a menstrual period..??

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow, and I will be asking the doctor for Birth Control. I haven't taken Birth Control in several years. but I really want to start it as soon as possible. My monthly period just ended, so I dont want to wait another whole month to start a birth control method, what options would I have besides just condoms..??What form of Birth Control can be started without waiting for a menstrual period..??
sorry i'm not much help.. i have the same issue though my appt isn't till tuesday morning when i will be hopefully getting my prescription..

Also do you have to wait till a certain time in your cycle to start the pills or can you start anytime you please?

my period just ended this weekend does this mean i can't start the pills till next month? What form of Birth Control can be started without waiting for a menstrual period..??
Yes pills can be taken without waiting for your period, but that is usually if they haven't had one in a while.

Since it just ended, they might tell you to take it next Sunday. Ask them at the appointment.
Make sure that you ask your doctor when the pills will become effective. In the meantime the easiest thing would be to use condoms plus a birth control gel or foam. You will need to have these on hand for times that you are on certain meds such as antibiotics which render the birth control pills ineffective.

Had sex 2,3 and 4 days after my period with no form of birth control?

I know the whole conceiving while ovulating, but it is possible that I could get pregnant from having sex the 2,3 and 4th day after my period?Had sex 2,3 and 4 days after my period with no form of birth control?
chances are no. anything is possible, but probably not......unless your cycle is only like 18-20 days long.Had sex 2,3 and 4 days after my period with no form of birth control?
Its possible but not very likely/ hardly probable...try later...like 10-17 days after. You'll have better luck.
it's not likely, but if you ovulate early and you have short cycles, you could get pregnant.
yes you could be....take a test in a week or so... or see a DR ASAP

Is the PLAN B pill a good form of birth control?

My g/f and I have 'natural' , UNprotected sex often because that's the way God intended.

Does anybody NOT recommend the Plan B pill?Is the PLAN B pill a good form of birth control?
the plan is ';A'; abstinence!!!!!Is the PLAN B pill a good form of birth control?
You can use the Plan B pill but essentially everytime you use it you are aborting a fetus. There are no severe negative side effects health wise but your girlfriend will be in a lot of pain for 2-3 days while the fetus leaves her uterus. And last time I checked that is not how God intended it. If you are using religion as an excuse not to use a condom or the pill, then Plan B would not be on your list for acceptable ways to prevent pregnancy. I am pro-choice but I believe that you should at least use the pill or a condom before making your girlfriend go through that ordeal every time you guys have sex.
Plan B is not designed as a form of birth control - it's for accidents! It's only 80% effective at preventing pregnancy AND there are alot of negative side effects.

Have her go on the Birth Control Pill instead or discuss other options where you can still both have sex ';naturally';. If you don't have alot of money try Planned Parenthood (1-800-230-PLAN) they can get her on birth control for low cost.

Don't forget to ask her though - it's up to her to make decisions about what kind of medication she puts into her body.
Plan B is not a form of abortion pill first off...

Secondly it's not a form of Birth Control.

    It's emergency contraception.

If God intended for your girlfriend to get pregnant, then she will get pregnant. If you're not ready to have children then you need to at least use condoms.

Unfortunately sweetheart, you can't pick and choose God's laws to conform with your life. You live by God's laws, not he conforms to you.

Use condoms, protect yourselves. Or get married, then have all the 'natural' sex you want.
Plan B is not good tell her to get on birthcontrol and do not use the pull out method because that does not work and the only other thing i can say is dont have sex

i fiance is allergic to all types of condomes and so am i so you could maybe just wish on luck that she does not get pregnat But do not use Plan b it does not always work and it is not natural Good Luck
Having unprotected sex and then taking medication to prevent the life you may have created from implanting and growing does not sound like something ';God intended';. Pregnancy prevention is best, not Plan B. I don't recommend it as birth control or for everyday use.
    Dear troll,

There's a reason it's called ';emergency contraception';. And, FYI, it's still contraception so it's no longer natural, if that's what you're going for. Also God doesn't like sex outside of marriage.

    love,

    Beth
If you have natural and unprotected sex because God intended it that way. Then you shouldn't be considering a pill that could kill the baby that God let you make naturally.
God certainly didnt intend on people having sex for the fun of it neither so therefor he didnt intend on the plan b pill.

so i guess in a way it wouldnt be a good idea since God didnt intend on anyone using the plan b pill
A)Its not a 100 percent or even close to it.

    B) is like 50 dollars or more so each time you have sex you have to buy it. Just think how much money you are wasting go on birth control or wear condoms its alot cheaper.
not for birth control, she needs to get on birth control pills or you need to buy condoms. and if that is what god intended, then you shouldn't be using the morning after, nothing natural about that. good luck :)
do you even know what birth control is? you cant take it daily...only up to 3 days after you have sex and ejaculate in her. and God intended on people not to be idiots.
plan B is called Emergency contraceptive for a reason! it is last choice option only to be used when absolutely needed you and your g/f need to find a safer more reliable form of bc good luck!
ok first if u want it ';natural'; bc god intened it to be that way y take birth control bc thats not ';natural'; and god never intened it to be used....???U make not sence
did God intend the Plan B pill? Get real....if you're not ready for a baby.....then dont have ';natural'; sex. Would God want you to abort his unborn child?
Plan B should never be used as a regular form of birth control, she needs to get on the pill, and you need to use condoms...ever heard of STD'S?
The plan B pill is a form of abortion. God made the baby do you think he intend you to kill it?
BUY A BOX OF CONDOMS THEY ARE CHEAPER

How effective is the Norplant System? Also, is it a safe form of birth control?

As far as I know, Norplant was taken off the market in the U.S. (for no good reason, as many European countries still continued to use the method safely and effectively) and the company re-released what is basically the same product, renaming it Implanon.

    Implanon is very effective:

    ';How Effective Is Implanon?

    Effectiveness is an important and common concern when choosing a birth control method. Implanon is very effective. Less than 1 out of 100 women a year will become pregnant using Implanon. It lasts up to three years.';

Also, Implanon is very safe, at least as safe as other methods:

    ';How Safe Is Implanon?

    Most women can use Implanon safely. But all medications have some risks, so safety is a concern when choosing a birth control method. Talk with your health care provider about your health and whether Implanon is likely to be safe for you. You should not use Implanon if you might have or have had breast cancer or if you might be pregnant.';

http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-鈥?/a>How effective is the Norplant System? Also, is it a safe form of birth control?
i would not consider the norplant safe birth control. it can give you blood clots and can cause strokes. theres all kinds of adverse effects norplant can give you. you probably won't get pregnant with norplant--but, it's a big health risk. good luck

Whats the safest form of birth control?

The only thing my husband and I have used in the past was condoms. Im really not thrilled with the idea of taking something that messes with your hormones or anything else that could possibly have side effects. Any suggestions?Whats the safest form of birth control?
hysterectomyWhats the safest form of birth control?
Sorry but there's nothing besides the condoms u can try the mirena iud that's one of the less side effects that I know if you only have one partner not recommended to any teenager and it depends in every person some people don't have any side effects taking the pill u can talk to your gynecology and see what they can recommend for you or what will be the best pill with less hormones for you to try.

    good luck
well technically as far as like a pill form or even an insert, there really arent safe ones. they all have side affects. If thats not what you want to do, i know there are some over the counter spermicides that you could use. their like tampons filled with a gel that you just insert like a tampon and you use it i think like either right before sex or like 30 minutes before sex. try looking at the store and read the box to find out more. they should be on the same isle as the condoms/pregnancy tests.
the ParaGard it is a Hormone-free birth control

Question.........Whats the safest form of birth control?

    Answer............Lesbianism !
try LD pills, or condoms but the easiest way is the condoms

  • What EXACTLY does it mean to use abortion as a form of birth control?

It means that instead of them using condoms or on the pill they don't use anything and get pregnant. They then don't think twice about having an abortion. If you open your legs you should be prepared to look after what pops out of em. If you don't want a kid don't have sex it isn't vital its just children playing like adults. What EXACTLY does it mean to use abortion as a form of birth control?
Instead of take birth control pills, use condoms or any other form of birth control, people make a choice to have sex without any protection to prevent pregnancy. Once the female gets pregnant, she gets an abortion. That's what it means. What EXACTLY does it mean to use abortion as a form of birth control?
it means that the person doesn't bother to practice safe sex and then just run out and get an abortion when they become pregnant

Is it necessary to take the morning after pill if your only form of birth control is birth control pills?

If you are on birth control pills and you have taken them correctly there is no need to take the morning after pill in addition to your usual pill otherwise whats the point in being on the pill in the first place. If you are concerned, the best form of contraception is the pill + condoms :)Is it necessary to take the morning after pill if your only form of birth control is birth control pills?
If you are taking your pills regularly, then you shouldn't need the morning after pill. Used correctly, the pills are 98% effective. Taking antibiotics can null your pills, as can some other medications.

Do you ovulate more than once a month? This is rare but it happens. If not and you've taken your pills faithfully and you were on the pills more than two weeks before sex, then you should be fine.

In the future, if you're still concerned you can also use a condom or spermicide as an extra preventative. I'd be more worried about ST D's.Is it necessary to take the morning after pill if your only form of birth control is birth control pills?
If you have been taking your birth control right on time everyday, it is not necessary for you to take the morning after pill. In fact, the morning after pill does a number on your body. Don't take it unless you totally have to.
If you want to be sure that you aren't pregnant I'd say yes. I got pregnant on birth control as did many other women I know.
Not if you're using your birth control pills perfectly.
    No.

Which Martial Art teaches the student the most intensive form of Self-Control & Discipline?

I am obviously looking to establish an incredible sense of self-control and discipline; which martial art would be optimal?Which Martial Art teaches the student the most intensive form of Self-Control %26amp; Discipline?
The instructor is what determines that, not the style.Even in school you could take the same class from different teachers. Each has their own teaching style for the same material. Each has their own attitude that they instill in the students. Same thing with the martial arts.Which Martial Art teaches the student the most intensive form of Self-Control %26amp; Discipline?
Self-control and discipline start with you, martial arts aren't required to achieve either.

That said, most traditional martial arts place some degree of emphasis on these traits but you can find people without them in every style.

Find a good school in your area and work hard. Practice self control and discipline in your every day life and extend that in to your training. Vent appropriately because everyone gets frustrated at times but it's self control and discipline that keep you from directing that in unhealthy ways.

    Good Luck.
shaolin monk kung fu is the most disciplined form of martial arts.

Shaolin training methods can produce extraordinary skills and abilities; examples of these skills include iron body techniques (both offensive and defensive), jumping and wall scaling techniques, pole-top leaping dexterity training, pressure-point and nerve manipulation, and a host of other feats.
The most discipline and self control is the one that doesn't fight back. The one that controls his anger and temper without moving to the provocation of violence. Gandhi is the embodiment of such a martial art. You may have the power and the ability to cause harm to others but you refrain from using it, with humility and understanding. -- this is true self control and discipline.
To me, it sounds like you might want to enlist in the US Marine Corps instead. If they can't teach you self-control and discipline, nobody can.

But I doubt that it comes down to what form of martial art you study. It comes more from you, instead. If you want to learn this, and develop self-control and discipline, YOU have to do it - not karate, judo, krav maga, tai kwan leap, or any other you care to name.

    You.
Goju Ryu Karate. I have done this for 10 years. It is superb. Perfect for self defence. Goju Ryu teaches self-defence rather than all out fighting.

To be honest any version of karate is good over the likes of judo, ty quan do and Tye boxing.

Hope you choose Karate. It's for life and it will make you a better man trust me.
It depends on how you like it and how good the Dojo is. I find Muay Thai to be very versatile in all areas of Martial Arts and I think that would be the best one.
its not the style that teaches that, its the instructor. and most traditional instructor teach this way.
It depends on the school and teacher. One taekwondo school may have the best discipline while the other taekwondo school will not.

In ';The Matrix';, the Matrix was a form of Control, to hide the truth of Reality.Isn't Religion the same thing?

Think about it a bit before Answering, rather than simply ';parroting'; what the Religious Matrix has programmed you to respond with.

You never know... Free your mind.In ';The Matrix';, the Matrix was a form of Control, to hide the truth of Reality.Isn't Religion the same thing?
If you really study the Matrix trilogy you will discover that it uncovers the truth about personal freedom – that we have all been turned into ';coppertops'; and the government feeds off our productive energy (actually steals it). Government is a religion and the most destructive kind because it is a product of evil men.

If you want to free your mind, first consider how little freedom you actually have. When you figure out how you lost it you can begin to regain it.

Here's one place to start: http://www.atgpress.com/

and another: http://www.originalintent.org/edu/In ';The Matrix';, the Matrix was a form of Control, to hide the truth of Reality.Isn't Religion the same thing?
Well in a sense, but there are some differences.

In ';The Matrix,'; the Matrix actually existed (in the sense that it was an actual running computer program) but in real life there's no indication that God exists.

Almost all the experiences of everyone inside ';The Matrix'; pointed towards the Matrix being real, while the experiences of people in real life do not point towards the existence of a God. Most people just take the existence of God on faith.

The people stuck in the Matrix had little way of knowing they were in the Matrix unless they were freed. Anyone who saw a strange occurrence which hinted that they were in the Matrix turned into an Agent. People in real life on the other hand, have plenty of evidence produced by science which suggests that there is no God.

    ____
That's why Marx referred to it as the ';opiate of the masses.'; The Matrix was used in exactly the same way, to keep the minds of humanity occupied while the machines harvested our bodies for energy.

    But did you catch the religious symbolism in the rest of the movie? They laid it on pretty thick. The sins of humanity created the problem (essentially, hubris led humans to believe that they were above the machines that served them), and Neo saved humanity by sacrificing himself to lead our species into a new age of peace and freedom. So the ideas are a little more complicated and tortuous than something as simple as ';The Matrix is religion!';
It controls us so we have to accept what it/they want us to accept as reality. Then they ask us to take sides against what they say is wrong, without question. Because not to do as they say would be less than society expects. Then we live our lives not as we wish to but as they wish us to. They turn us into sheep and use religion/politics to round us up. To frighten us into doing their will, which they say comes from god.

no. religion brings out the truth of reality no matter what religion you are. it lets you choose what you want to believe in and how you want to practice your religion. no one will know what the true religion is until they die. by then of course it will be too late if you have chosen wrong.
Logic would say that it is either

    1) the form of control

    or

    2) the pill that frees your mind.

How can you know? The two realities don't always agree so there's got to be one that's less-real. Which is it?
How do you know your reality is real. You believe only what you see. A small mind is the most controlling force in the universe.
You're comparing a fiction movie to faith.

Let's see; watch the second movie in the Matrix trilogy.

Talks about faith doesn't it? What do you think?
all religion is simply stories people made up to explain the unexplained. so yeah, thats pretty much another way of saying it, seeing as how those mythological tales have lasted until present day.
    Only false religion.
    Yes, essentially.
    I think you spend to much time watching TV! ';Accept Jesus and live';

    God loves you...God bless

I'm thinking of getting Mirena as a form of birth control. Has anyone ever tried it and how is it?

I'm having my second baby and want to be on birth control after I have the baby. I'm not fond of pills, shots, or patches. Saw a commercial about Mirena and thinking about getting it, but I need some more information about it from those who have tried it. Please help! Give me pros and cons :) thanks!I'm thinking of getting Mirena as a form of birth control. Has anyone ever tried it and how is it?
Well the good news is that I haven't gotten cramps with the Mirena, and my periods stopped after a month. The bad news is that I gained 40+ pounds within just a few months, despite the fact that I eat really healthy (no red meat, lots of plant matter, whole grains and fiber). I also hit the gym really hard 3-4 days a week. I run, lift weights, bike, etc, and I haven't lost a single pound. My OB swore up and down that the Mirena wasn't the cause, however, I have seen hundreds of posts on different boards from women with my exact story. ONce they got Mirena out, their weight came off. That is just my personal experience with it.I'm thinking of getting Mirena as a form of birth control. Has anyone ever tried it and how is it?
I've never used it, but I know many women that have. I believe that it's statistically the most effective form of birth control - even more effective than tubal ligation. I'll have to do some reading to make sure my stats are right, but last time I checked, that was the case.

    Here's their website: http://www.mirena-us.com/index.html?WT.s鈥?/a>

    Good luck!
i currently have the mirena in place, have had it for nearly a year now but am considering having it removed, reason for this is it has made my cycle very erratic, i will get a very heavy flow for first 5days, then goes away for two days, then back again for 3days then it has light bleeding for another 2 weeks so 3 weeks all up,very annoying.on the other hand tho for some people after having it in place for 3months there period completely stops, guess i was the unluky one lol.the plus side to having it in is once it's placed thats it for 5years,no worrying about getting pregnant.i have heard from others it can be very sore while it is being inserted tho, luky for me i had mine inserted in a hospital so was totally out to it .its definately something you should talk to your doctor or midwife about tho they will both be able to give you more info
Hey... I don't know a great deal about it but if you check out this website i am sure some of your Q's will be answered :)

    http://www.mirena-us.com/index.jsp
I have had the Mirena IUD in place for about a year and a half after having my 2nd child. It lasts for 5 years. She placed it and it didn't even hurt although I have been told by friends that theirs hurt a little bit, but only for a few seconds as it was going in. I had a regular period for about 3 months after that, then, WHAM! NO PERIOD!!! It's great! I don't have to worry about when I'm going to start or buying all those pads or tampons. The only downside I have with mine is I get terrible cramps because they say it can cause Ovarian Cysts (which should shrink after you have the IUD removed). Now, I don't know if I have them, but my guess would be that I do because I never had cramps like this before. But everyone I've ever asked say that they don't have their period and they have no signs or symptoms and it's great! Another thing you don't have to worry about is getting pregnant. No condoms, no pills to take every day, no patch to put on every week, no worries about 'accidents'. I LOVE mine!
My wife recently got one installed and this is what she has to say: I have had erratic bleeding for the 1st 2months period pains are worse and when i finally get my period it lasts for at least two weeks way longer than usual, but over all the bleeding is lighter than normal, it can make you feel quiet emotional at times with the hormone release it has, but in a few months that should have sorted it self out hopefully.

Is there such thing as an all natural form of birth control?

Im deadly afraid of birth control, and I know that the morning after pill is only for emergencies. But I don't trust the FDA and what they authorize as ';safe'; please let me know if there is another way for birth control besides the condom..Is there such thing as an all natural form of birth control?
There's the diaphragm - but that also requires spermicidal gel; there's female condoms - essentially a loose baggie (sounds even less fun than a condom).

The IUD is supposed to work by irritating the lining of the uterus to prevent implantation, but that sounds even less healthy than pills.

There's pulling out and rythm, also know as ';Vatican Roulette';. these methods are effective only until they fail... which depends on how reliable and regular your period is.

Basically the only really effective methods of not getting pregnant are abstinence, hysterectomy, menopause, vasectomy, and already being pregnant. Is there such thing as an all natural form of birth control?
A copper IUD is wonderful! It has no hormones. No side effects. And you are just as fertile the day you take it out as the day you put it in. Good luck!
Get the book ';Taking Charge of your Fertility'; and take a class on the Fertility Awareness Method.

  • Which form of birth control is best for your health?

i have heard that some forms of birth control cause mood swings, weight gain, severe migraines and in some cases in heavier women it can cause spinal fluid build up...which form of birth control is best for your health?Which form of birth control is best for your health?
My hubby and I attended a Natural Family Planning class, (which we never applied to our life) ~ I would suppose it would be the best birth control for your health (aside from abstinance!)

Natural Family Planning (NFP) refers to natural methods used for avoiding or achieving pregnancy which are based on a couple鈥檚 awareness of the woman鈥檚 naturally occurring times of fertility and infertility. http://www.familyministries.org/nfp.htm

http://www.bygpub.com/natural/natural-fa鈥?/a>Which form of birth control is best for your health?
all birth control is synthetic. the best for your health is abstinence for birth control.
Ironically, an aspirin between your knees would be the safest birth control for your health.
    Trial and error

It depends on the way the individual reacts to different treatments. Everybody is different. For me I experienced heavy painful periods and migraines off the pill, and since being on it I only experience migraines (which is an improvement). There are different types of the pill and it is just a matter of seeing if they work for you. If not there are other things you can do. You should talk to your GP about it.
I agree with abstinence. Well, when my husband and I decided to no longer use birth control, as we decided it wasn't natural, God blessed us with a baby, whom we're eagerly awaiting to meet in a month and a half. Prior to our marriage, we were abstinent.
    Low estrogen.
Natural Birth control is the best one.... i am using the same method... its healthy ... without tablets and medicine..... and my wife is so happy with that.... even if the sperms stay in they doesnt effect work.
Not all birth control will make you gain weight, although, being an assistant to a GYN, I have seen it happen, a lot. The best non hormonal birth control is a diaphragm, it gives the protection with out the chemicals. You still need to use condoms though, to protect you from std's, no matter what kind of birth control you use ! unless you are married and sure of your partner. never think it can't happen to you. !! As far as the spinal fluid build up, I have never heard of that happening,. no matter the weight of the woman, when taking BCP's.

Which is the better form of birth control?

I know I'm not going to remember to take a pill the same time everyday, so according to my research, my only two options(besides no sex) are the Depo shots or the patch. I was wondering if any users could tell me some pros and cons to using them and which would you recomend?Which is the better form of birth control?
There are a few options open to you.

    1. Depo-Provera - The Shot

pros: - protects you for 12 weeks

    - don't need to remember a pill daily

    - helps prevent cancer in the uterus lining

cons: - if you don't like shots this is clearly bad

    - pregnancies tend to be ectopic (in your fallopian tube)

    - it takes an average of 9-10 months (if not longer) to get pregnant after your last shot.

    2. Ortho Evra - The Patch

pros: - Apply one patch per week, 4th week off.

    - Fertility returns soon after ending patch usage.

    - may reduce heaviness of period and cramping

cons: - reaction on skin at site of application

    - increased exposure to estrogen

    - blood clots

    3. NuvaRing - The Ring

pros: - use one ring for three weeks straight, vaginally

    - does not require a fitting by a clinician

    - it does not take the spontaneity out of your sex life

cons: - it can pop out during sex, you wash it in cold water and replace it

    - increased vaginal discharge is possible, as is irritation

    4. Intrauterine Devices - IUD

    pros: -

    - long term birth control, no remembering to take anything or do anything

    - menstrual flow tends to be reduced by 90%. For 20% of women, their flow stops in one year's time.

    - less than one woman a year gets pregnant with this method

cons: - expulsion - it slips out of the uterus fully or partially

    - perforation - it鈥檚 pushed into the wall of the uterus, may require surgery to repair, may not.

    - infection - it鈥檚 rare but possible to have a pelvic infection occur with use (bacteria entering during insertion)

    5. Diaphragms, Caps, and Shields

pros: - use it only when you need it

    - can be carried in your purse

    - does not affect your hormones

    - can be inserted hours before you plan on having sex

cons: - you can not use it while you have your period

    - may be difficult to insert

    - may be pushed out of place by sexual position or thrusts

    - 14-16 women will get pregnant using one of these options

More pros and cons are listed for each of these options at my source link. There is also additional information there.

As a personal and less clinical note... all people react differently to different birth controls. As a doctor once told me ';it's hit or miss. Keep trying until you find the one that is right for you.'; I tried the pill, monophasic and triphasic and suffered severe depression (they pulled me off the pill immediately). I then used the patch and have stuck with that. Yes, it does get stuff stuck to it along the edges, but the conveniences balance it for me. I can remember to change the patch once a week and I don't experience severe mood swings. In the end, I chose what was right for me... and I wish you luck in finding the one that works best for you!Which is the better form of birth control?
I hated the patch, it got all gross by day 2 or 3. Fibers from my clothes would stick to it, so instead of this skin colour patch that blends in, i had this very noticeable black (or whatever colour clothing I was wearing) sticky residue! It was the same thing with a friend of mine who used it as well.

Have you heard of the Nuva-Ring?
u can still take birth control if u cant remember if u do forget (dont try to) jsut take it that morning or whatever
Actually, I would not recommend any kind of hormonal birth control. Why? Not only do they supress ovulation, which is unnatural, but they have many unpleasant side effects, and if you read the package insert of any kind of birth control they all say:

    ';The long terms effects of hormonal contraceptives are unknown.';

I think that's too big a risk to take. Also birth control can cause early abortions. Have you done any research on Natural Family Planning? My husband and I have used it successfully for years now. No side effects and it's totally free!
my doc won't prescribe the patch it has been linked to too many strokes.

on the personal side, I've had neither but my friend did use the patch (different doc) and she complained about the adhesive itself. she said she hated replacing it every week since the adhesive was strong enough to last 7 days she had to have her hubby do it right after a shower quick like ripping off a band aid. she also mentioned her insurance wouldn't cover as much of it as they did the pill.

and my sister had the depo shot - she liked it but didn't like having to go in every 3 months to get it done...also it took like 8 or 9 months to get the hormones completely out of her body before she was able to try to conceive.

all this said, i just went in today and got Mirena IUD put it. it's maintenance free and lasts up to 5 years! also the doc said when i want to try to get pregnant just come in and get it removed, my body would be ready to conceive in less than a month!!!

talk to your doc about all your options based on your habits - that's what he's there for.

    good luck!
I have had both. Depo made me gain alot of weight and I had a terrible 1st year. I bled alot and often through the first year but was never able to drop the weight I gained. Later I tried the patch. It was OK but it gets alot of lint etc. stuck to it and looks very unattractive. It also gave me a headache. I just got an IUD called Mirena and it is the best experience I have had with birthcontrol. I skip months at a time and don't feel pregnant like many birthcontrols make me feel. Mirena is a procedure but it is not that bad. You feel a pinch thats all. It is good for 5 years but can be removed at any time. I suggest you look into it! Hope this helps!
A good form of birth control is to keep a bunch of rowdy kids for a week and then decide if sex is worth it.
There are pros and cons to all forms of birth control. Although abstinence is the best and most effective I have heard more negatives about the patch. I was watching a commercial that was basically saying it has more side effects than doctors and pamphlets will tell you. I would recommend the shot. The myth with that is you gain weight, which is not true, it all depends on your diet. That doesn't mean you have to succumb to being a vegetarian but if you eat McDonald's everyday your bound to gain SOME weights. Take the shot and watch your diet and you should be OK.
How about trying the NuvaRing..........It is a much better option then the Depo or the patch.
My doc won't give Depo to women who are not done having children. There are simply too many cases of infertility following use for him to be comfortable with that. I don't know anything about the patch; that came out after I enquired about Depo.

Consider getting a watch that beeps at the same time every day to remind you to take your pill. I mean, think about it. How are you going to handle it if your life depends on taking a pill every day (as in the case of folks with heart trouble). In addition, invest in condoms.

Oh, and the IUD was successful for my Mom for decades. That's also an option.

To the poster who says she should just see her doctor, well, I'm here to tell you that many doctors don't even TELL you about the choices available! The Internet is a good place to find out about what is available and what questions to ask so when you DO see your doctor, you have some knowledge to ask the right questions.
As a depo user for almost 5 years. On and off, before and after I had my baby. I would strongly suggest you to stay away from it. They do not tell you when you first start using it, but it is not good for your body at all. And when you are decided it'd time you want to start having children you will not be able to, it messes with you body so bad. There is an entire website dedicated to ';life after depo'; Just take the pill. Use your cell phone (everyone has one) and set an alarm to go off everyday at the same time. If you want to be responsible and not get pregnant you can remember to take a pill once a day
I hated the patch! its like a band aide thats stays on your skin too long and looks all old and dirty. I hated that thing. The Depo-worked for me for a few years, but strange story with it, Got my shot in october, got pregnant in novemeber, found out I was prego on new years eve!

I had been on it for 2 years!

You may want to research the Mirena (IUC) its implanted and has a faster recovery time to your flow than an IUD. It has shown to decrease your periods, cramping, and hormonal imbalance!

    Good luck
There's also the Nuva Ring... I really liked that option. It's easy and you only have to change it once a month. Low hormone levels, so it doesn't have many side effects and you can chose to leave it in for a full month and skip the actual bleeding for up to 3 months in a row. My doctor used that method for me b/c I had horrible cramping with menstruation, so she decided the best way for me to deal with it was to bypass the period all together. Whatever works for you. But I would give it a try, see how you like it. I'm sure your doctor would have free samples, or go to Nuva Ring's website. I think they have a coupon for one.
Dont take the patch. My gyno said they werent giving the patch anymore due to the side effects. Its killed people and several were young. The shot is only every 3 months. There are others like the IUD, diaphrams, cap, the ring, and the inplant.

Patcha(ortho Evra) Its placed on arm butt stomach once a week for 3 weeks. It protects against pregnancy for 1 month. It works best when Its changed on the same day for the whole month(like change it once every monday) Usually have shorter lighter periods. It can cause heart attack, blood clots, and diabities.

The shot- protects against pregnancy for 12 weeks.Protection is immediate if taken within the first 7 days of period. It is one of the most effective birt control options. Helps prevent cancer in the lining of the uterus. Disavantage It takes an average of 9-10 months to get pregnant after taking the last shot.
Personally, I avoid the hormones altogether. I use a paragard IUD. It is good for 10 years, and can be removed at any time just about as easily as a tampon by your gyno when you are ready to have a baby. Generally you must be in a monogamous relationship with no history of any STD's, and some doctor's prefer you to have had at least one baby first. They are very low maintenance (you just have to check it monthly usually after you period to make sure its still in place). I had one for 10 years, had it removed, and got pregnant with my baby girl within a couple of weeks. I tried the shots, and within 2 years I gained 30 pounds!!
I think it really depends on the person. I totally agree with you about the pill not being the greatest option, I can't remember to take them at the same time every day- now that I have kids, I can barely remember much. BUT my sister got pregnant with triplets, lost one so she had twins, while on the Depo shots. Then she was on the pill when she got pregnant with her daughter (7 years later!). I got pregnant while on the pill (but I was taking it correctly at the time), and then again while I had a Paraguard IUD, it is supposed to last 10 years, I had had it for five. So we don't even have one that works for us. You might have to try one kind for a while, then if that doesn't work, switch to another, etc. The shot I wouldn't recommend, because of my sister's experience, but also because she puffed up like a fish. She was always pretty thin, but when she got on the shot, she looked like she had gained 40 lbs. and a lot in her face. She is a very healthy eater, so that person saying that if you watch what you'll eat, you'll be fine, if full of it. I'm not sure what my sister gained, I never felt it was nice to ask, but I'll sure never try it. I don't know about the patch, except for what people have already written. That might work. Good luck~
what is so hard about remembering to take a pill every day? just do it with the rest of the stuff you do in the morning when you get up, or the vening when you go to bed...you brush your hair everyday right? you brush your teeth everyday (i hope!) things like that, just take it then put the pills with your toothbrush or hair brush etc.
I would recommend the depo shot although I haven't used either. With the patch you'd still have to remember to take it weekly and I heard it had a higher failure rate than the depo shot. With the depo shot you don't need to think about your birth control for 3 months although there are some pretty serious side effects to consider.

Natural family planning is not an effective method of birth control.
Of course no sex is the safest sex, but I'm sure that is not what you want to hear. To be honest, the depo has had very little research done on it. ';They'; don't know what kind of long term effects it might cause. It hasn't been tested long enough to really know anything about it. There have been cases where the depo caused infertility. Also, it causes weight gain and mood swings. The patch can cause irritation on the spot that you wear it. It falls off before time and above all no form of birth control is 100% effective. The only pros to either one would be the length of time that you can go without the bother of remembering to use it. The depo is every 3 months and the patch, depending on the brand is either twice a week or once a week.
I did the pill for 2 years and it was a pain. I just started ';nuvaring'; and I'm loving it! Just as effective as the pill and you change it every 3 weeks. Can't feel it at all and won't fall out because of the muscles holding it in place. Highly recommended.
Both the Depo shot and the patch are associated with VERY serious side effects, I can't recommended either.

Please read that patient insert for Depo-provera and decide if those risks are worth it to you:

    http://www.pfizer.com/pfizer/download/pp鈥?/a>

It is also strongly recommended you not take Depo for more than two years.

Due to the high hormone levels in the patch it puts you at greater risk of all the side effects of the pill, such as blood clots, etc. that is why there are class action lawsuits against the patch.

Nuva ring is supposed to release lower levels of hormones, but I don't know if that is true.

You might want to consider an IUD, the new hormonal IUDs (non-copper) are associated with much lower rates of side effects, and ALL side effects caused by IUDs go away as soon as they are removed, unlike Depo which can cause a lifelong loss of bone density.
I would try the nuva ring. That's the best form out there right now in my opinion. Good luck.
I do not reccomed either. the depo will make you gain weight and i have heard bad stuff on the patch. check with your doctor about yaz.
Possibly not having sex like you stated if your not ready to have a baby then dont take the risk of gettting knocked up..Your doctor knows more then the people on yahoo answers...

Do you think this is an effective form of birth control?

Having sex on your period and withdrawing before orgasm. Do you think this would pretty much guaruntee that I don't get pregnant?Do you think this is an effective form of birth control?
The chances of you becoming pregnant using this method are very low.

Having sex on your period lowers the chances in and of itself. While on your period you are shedding the lining of your uterine wall, you're pretty far from ovulation (more than 6 days on a normal menstrual cycle, which is how long sperm can generally survive inside a woman), etc. These factors make for a hostile environment for conception.

Also, pre-ejaculate does not always contain sperm. The only sperm carried in pre-*** is that that has been gathered from the urethra of the penis. When a man urinates, he washes the majority (if not all) of the sperm out of the urethra that had been left over from the last time he came. So unless he ejaculates and does not urinate before depositing pre-*** into the vagina, there will be little to no sperm present.

I wouldn't completely bank on this method, especially if you're having sex with random men (running the risk of STDs as well), but the chances of getting pregnant in this situation are slim.Do you think this is an effective form of birth control?
If you want to guarantee that you don't get pregnant, don't have sex at all. If you want a reliable method use a condom and a spermicidal cream or the pill. You aren't as likely to get pregnant on your period, but it can happen. You also aren't as likely to get pregnant if he withdraws before ejaculation, but there can be sperm in the pre-ejaculate, so it can happen. Neither of these things will guarantee that you don't get pregnant. You might get lucky, but you might not. If you aren't married, then you should still use a condom even if you get on the pill because it will also protect against sexually transmitted diseases.
If you have 'normal cycles' (at least 27 days) and normal bleeds (less than 7 days) you would almost certainly not be fertile during your period. (It would be over a week before ovulation, too soon for the sperm to catch the egg.)

However .... this would mean you could only have sex for a few days out of the month ... at a time when many couples don't feel as 'free' about sex play. If that works for you and your partner, that's cool. But if you want a bit more freedom, I would consider using a different method.
nope. Not all women ovulate mid cycle. Sperm live in you for up to 6 days, so if you have sex before you ovulate the sperm will wait for your egg.

Best idea : use birth control pill and condoms together if you don't want a baby.
no. you can get pregnant on your period, if that is when you happen to ovulate. you can also get pregnant from pre-ejaculate.

use a condom and birth control.
Not at all. Your body can do strange things, like ovulate twice, and sperm can leak out. I wouldn't quite put this in the category of the ancient Egyptians using crocodile dung, but I wouldn't try it.
Sorry are you withdrawing before yours or his (orgasm) just because you stop before he goes doesn't guarantee anything. Remember there is always pre ejaculation
Absolutely not!! The only way to GUARANTEE you dont get pregnant is not having sex at all. The next safest way to ensure you dont get pregnant is B.C. or condom or both is even better!
no, pre-ejaculation has sperms in it too, and also they can stay alive for many days inside your body, if it comes across an egg before it dies, baby!
I do NOT think this will guarantee you will not get pregnant. Using a condom and the pill is a much more effective form of birth control.
    Sorry, no guarantees.
LOL...Do you know what they call women who use this form of birth control?

    MOM.
    No I don't think so.
    Nothing is fool proof.
Of the 200 - 500 million sperm released in one ejaculation, just one can reach and fertilize the lone egg released by the female.

Sperm can live for only a few hours inside the vagina, and even less than that outside the human body, exposed to the open air. If the sperm survive to enter the less hostile environment of the female reproductive tract beyond the cervix, they can survive for up to five days. The egg, however, has a life-span of only about a single day from the time it leaves the ovary.

In short, fertilization can occur whenever a live sperm meets up with a live egg, which can happen even if the sperm are deposited up to five days in advance of ovulation.

Sperm in a man's body can be damaged by excessive alcohol intake, or by drug use. Cigarette smoking can lower the number of sperm in semen by up to half, and can also cause impotence.

Semen from a disease-free individual is harmless. However, semen can be the carrier for many sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

    Lifespan

Sperm swim in and are nourished in the semen. Once inside the fallopian tube(s) they have a life span of about 5 days.

This means they can be in the fallopian tube for 5 days in advance of ovulation and still fertilize the egg. The egg, unfertilized, has a life span of only about 24 hours.

In the vagina, they die in only a few hours.

In the open air, they die rapidly.

    Creation

Women are born with a specific and limited quantity of eggs. Usually one to two million.

Baby boys are born with a set number of underdeveloped sperm cells which are not technically sperm, yet. These cells eventually mature at puberty and they will create the reproductive type cells.

Unlike the female human who uses up her eggs, a healthy male will create sperm his entire adult life from these underdeveloped cells.

    The process is called spermatogenesis.

During spermatogenesis the underdeveloped cells make exact copies of themselves. Each cell will make four copies that will then mature into mature reproductive cells. This process happens only in the seminiferous tubules within the testicles.

It takes 65-74 days for the sperm cells to develop.

The underdeveloped original cells do not become reproductive cells. They stay in the testicles and are saved for future ';cloning';.

If the original underdeveloped ';parent'; cells are killed or damaged, the man would become sterile because he would no longer have the resources necessary to create new sperm

I need an opinion about the non-hormonal IUD as a form of birth control?

I am currantley on the pill but want to try the non-hormoal IUD. My concern is, will it interfere with sex at all? To insert or not to insert, that it the question?I need an opinion about the non-hormonal IUD as a form of birth control?
The non-hormonal IUD doesn't interfere with sex, it's just like the hormonal types. The most common non-hormonal IUD is the copper kind. You wanna be careful with all IUDs because using them increases your chances of getting PID. Also you're at increased risk for ectopic pregnancy and infertility. The most common side affects are heavier menstrual flow, painful cramps, spotting between period, etc. Talk to your doctor and he/she can help you decide if the IUD is right for you.I need an opinion about the non-hormonal IUD as a form of birth control?
I have a low-hormone IUD called Mirena and I love it. It doesn't give systemic-levels of hormones, just enough to keep the lining of your uterus thin so your periods are light and short. The drawback is that you have to have at least one child to get one. I don't know why that is. So if you're already a mom, I say read up on it a little more! It lasts 5 years and you can get pregnant as soon as 1 month after having it removed.
My sis in law has it and said she doesnt even know it's there.
There are many options out there and the biggest question is how long do you want your fertility to be affected?

If you are looking for something you don't have to mess with at all you can look towards a copper IUD. They are completely hormone free and inserted into your uterus by the OBGYN, the drawback being that you may have to wait a year or so after it's removal to regain full fertility.

Aside from that you can look at the Sponge or Diaphragm. You can insert it up to 4 hours before sex (I think) and leave it in for about 12 hours after. It simply is a blockage method with added spermicide for extra protection.

I'm sure there may be other options out there but I think those are the 2 main ones for someone looking for a method completely free of hormones.

Check my source for all your options...
I've had it for almost 3 years now.

The insertion hurt really bad, but that was partially because I've never had kids or been pregnant. I was in moderate pain and had some spotting for about 3 weeks, but OTC painkillers helped a lot.

I haven't had any problems after the initial 3 weeks. I do have slightly heavier periods and some cramps, but the convenience is really worth it.

My partner can't feel it at all
I would definitely recommend it.....for the right person. I am not able to tolerate the pill due to the increase in the hormones. I have had the mirena IUD in for 4 years now, and I am very happy that I got it. The first few weeks you should expect some cramping and spotting, but after that, lighter periods, if any, and decreased cramping when you do have them. No problems during sex either. Plus, if you do want to become pregnant, you can have it removed and your cycle is supposed to return to normal a lot faster than the pill.

Is war another form of population control that god uses?

Just figured that was probably some of it.Is war another form of population control that god uses?
Don't blame God for the trouble that man gets himself into.

If more people believed in God, there would be far fewer wars.Is war another form of population control that god uses?
No. this is no where in the bible. If God wanted to make sure the population would not expand he would close up the womb and women would not be able to have children. He is the one who put the children in the womb. whether mankind wants to believe they have control or not. They don't.They just think they do.
    According to His word, it is not God's will that any perish. Tragically, His will is not yet being realized on this earth - a good reason to keep on praying the Lord's prayer, ...';Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven...';
No, war is the ultimate consequence of sin.

Overpopulation is a myth. %26lt;google that

God does not inflict punishments on people. Such a ';god'; is a man-made god, not the God of the Gospels.
Definitely been considered before. It has been found that animals become more Violante as they reach carrying capacity, and that's genetic, thus designed by God.

I think it's very much possible
I guess it depends on your own personal beliefs. If you believe everything happens for a reason than yes, most likely it is. However if you think that things happen because we make them happen than no, it is just a choice.

  • Is birth control pills a form of abortion?

Is birth control pills basically abortion? my friend want me to buy these pills for him and a girl, and i don't want to if is abortion. Is birth control pills a form of abortion?
Birth control pills prevent birth in three ways:

    1) They usually prevent ovulation. That means that most months the woman's ovaries do not release eggs. Some months they do.

    2) They thicken cervical mucus, which can keep sperm from entering the uterus and fertilizing an egg that does get released.

    3) They change the lining of the uterus to prevent fertilized embryos from implanting. This means that if an egg is released and is fertilized by a sperm so that an embryo is formed, the embryo is killed because it can't find a place to attach.

So, if you believe that life begins at conception, birth control pills cause abortions. Is birth control pills a form of abortion?
Actually, an abortion is the premature exit of the products of conception from the uterus, according to a medical definition. So, intentional prevention of implantation is abortion. Lots of women would rather be ignorant of that fact, but choices should be informed.

No. Birth control pills are a form of contraceptive. If you are already pregnant and take birth control pills they very rarely have any effect on the pregnancy as far as terminating the pregnancy. Even taken properly they can't really be considered a form of abortion as they work by preventing ovulation and preventing pregnancy from happening in the first place and the definition of an abortion is the ';termination of pregnancy.'; If there's no pregnancy to begin with then there can't be an abortion.
Both Plan B and hormonal birth control pills prevent pregnancy by delaying (in the case of Plan B) or preventing (in the case of HBC) ovulation from occurring. If ovulation does not occur at a time when sperm are present then fertilization and subsequent pregnancy cannot occur. Neither BC nor Plan B will do anything to affect fertilization that has already occurred.

Plan B can be taken after unprotected sex. It delivers a large dose of hormones that shock the ovaries into thinking they have already ovulated. This gives any sperm that are present time to die before the hormones work their way out of the woman's system and allow the ovaries to wake up and realize they need to ovulate.

If she has already ovulated when the unprotected sex has occurred then Plan B will not do anything to prevent or terminate the pregnancy.
So I don't agree with any of these posts... And I have personal experience. My reasons are these:

    1. Some birth control methods (ex. Nuva Ring) don't stop sperm from fertilizing an egg, they stop the fertilized egg from being implanted, so in my humble opinion, they are a form of VERY EARLY abortion.

    2. Some birth control methods (pills like Alese, or POP pills) stop the sperm from fertilizing an egg, so in my opinion, these methods of birth control are not abortion.

    3. The Plan B pill, could be a form of abortion if the female's egg is already fertilized, but will do no harm if there is not embryo...

I did not know that some birth control methods allow a woman's egg to be fertilized, and hate the idea of it. I have used these kind before, and wish I had been more educated on the subject. The bottom line is this: if you aren't comfortable with the situation, you have every right to tell your friend no. Condoms are readily available for everyone.
You can't buy birth control pills over the counter. I think you're talking about the morning after pill (called ';Plan B';). It is not a form of abortion, but cannot be used by women who are already pregnant. It only prevents a woman who has had unprotected sex, or has experienced failure of another form of birth control, from becoming pregnant.
birth control WILL NOT abort a pregnancy. birth control PREVENTS ovulation, therefore preventing fertilization and implantation of a zygote.

if you're referring to the PLAN B or MORNING AFTER pill, then they can take it IF the sex happened within three days. this pill prevents fertilization OR implantation of a zygote. a pregnancy DOES NOT occur until implantation. no implantation means no pregnancy. and you can't abort unless there is a pregnancy.

would you rather they prevent a pregnancy to begin with or have to wait until she is pregnant to abort the pregnancy?

however, it is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS what they do. what gives you the right to tell them what they can and cannot do?
it's not abortion it stop a women from getting pergnant so abortion wont happen. it stops a women from ovulating and if a women cant ovulating she cant get pregnant it's a form of protect so to speech like a condom BUT it does not stop STD it only provents a women from getting pregnant so she should you use both
I don't think its abortion because technically tou are not killing a baby you are just preventing the baby from happening. In my opinion they aren't a form of abortion!
Technically, no. Plan-B could be considered an abortion, however.

Are you by any chance Catholic? Just wondering.
    No.

    abortion kills babies.

but the pill just prevents them from being created in the first place.

you cant destroy something that was never created.
No it prevents a pregancy from even occuring. Plan B does the same thing so it cannot be considered abortion either.
No birth control prevents pregnancy, abortion destroys the baby when you are pregnant.

Relationship issues - spontaneity as a form of control?

Anyone able to cite any references? When people are together, one insists only on spontaneity and makikng few plans. But isn't this insistence on spontaneity really a way of being more in control? Doesn't spontaneity really only work when you are by yourself. Insisting on spontaneity that in effect, makes the other person unable to really do anything, isn't that just control freak in disguise?Relationship issues - spontaneity as a form of control?
Yes, you are right !! any time anyone puts a rule or limit on something then it is a form of control, even being spontaneous only - that is definitely a form of control, not to mention so ridiculous - some things absolutely must be planned in advance in order to work.

The belief that judging is an act of being judgmental. This leads to the desire to be seen to be open-minded. One must not be labeled judgmental, which is bad (how it's bad when there is no good or bad in this new brave political correct universe is never answered).Since everyone is entitled to their opinions one never seriously questions everyone's opinion. What is the best form of birth control for a person who has epilepsy?

i take medication for it and i am fully controlled but just wondering if the shot or an iud or just the pill is the best............What is the best form of birth control for a person who has epilepsy?
IUD without any hormones or female condoms would be the best. I would not recommend any contraception with hormones. All contraceptive drugs/pills can interact with your medication. Read all details about contraception, IUDs and female condoms in http://www.menstrual-cycle.info

Be Healthy and Happy! What is the best form of birth control for a person who has epilepsy?
This was actually discussed on another board, and I believe the suggestion was non hormonal birth control such as IUD, condoms, sponge. Your doctor is a good source, but not the only source, for this information. Look at several good sites such as Planned Parenthood, Web MD and such to find out what is actually available. Your doc may not even know about some of the newer stuff and while it may not be best for you, at least you aren't missing something that could be a good fit. Ultimately, though, except for the sponge and condoms, your doctor has to prescribe anything that you do get.
You truly shouldn't take any birth control pills. Many don't say anything but a woman my mom works with got called by a Dr that her daughter, who is very health and active, died from taking birth control pills. I suggest just using rubbers. I know if you get pregnant it will increase your epilepsy. The birth control pills basically make your mind and body feel like it's pregnant....so it's kind of a lose, lose situation.

It's better to be safe then dead.
Hmm, i think you'd want to ask the doctor that. I'm sure that BC pills don't really interfere with other medications, Its just the OTHER meds that might interfere with the birth control. I know taking antibiotics while on the pill can make the pill not work.
Seizure medication and birth control can be used together....choose whatever works best for you.
The Depo shot worked wonderfully for me. =] It all just depends on you as a person, but I think the depo is what most doctors reccommended =P

Recommendation for a 2nd form of birth control?

I just became sexually active. We've used the type of condoms with spermicidal foam on them, but I obviously want to add a second type of birth control to the mix because one form isn't safe enough. The Pill is an option, but I'd like to explore other options first. I'm thinking spermicidal foam, has anyone used it and has feedback? What else might you guys recommend?Recommendation for a 2nd form of birth control?
Try the pill. With spermicidal foam, it can irritate the vagina.Recommendation for a 2nd form of birth control?
depends on your age, but IUD's work for some.
When I first became sexually active, I choose to use the pill, however, being young and very immature about such things as possible pregnancy, I found myself abusing it by using the pill to skip periods and such. Then, I found it to be more of a hassle to remember to keep taking it and had trouble turning it into a routine. I decided to try the depo shot, and well, that didn't work because it really messed with my hormones. I tried different things for a while, condoms, pulling out, that kind of stuff, and now I am a proud parent of a three year old little girl. I got tired of the pills and shots and decided to try and IUD. BEST CONTRACEPTIVE EVER!! But of course it depends on the type. I tried two before I decided on the Mirena. It doesn't have as much hormones in it as the pill and they are just as effective as a condom. It hurts a bit when getting them put in, but to not have to worry for five years is worth it! Oh, don't get the copper IUD, it may last longer, but it causes a lot of bleeding and hurts much more than the Mirena.
I am in the Medical Field Mother of 3 Teenage Daughter

I NEVER recommend the Pill it is too easy for you to forget to take

I suggest the Depo Shot or the IUC (which is 5 years of pregnancy protection) and can be removed prior if you want to have a baby

The issue with the Patch is you have to remember to put it on and with the Nuva Ring you have to remember to put it in.

You can still get pregant with the Patch ,Pill and Nuva Ring
the pill works great if you can remember to take it everyday at the same time...the depo shot is good too but beware that can cause you to have long periods or no periods...it messed me up after a year of using it. the spermicidal foam works but personally i always hated that stuff because of the smell and stickyness it would cause afterwards.
I went through the same thing you are. I did ridiculous amounts of research looking for a form of birth control that was right for me and wasn't apt to making me crazy - I wasn't too keen on hormones because I knew I'd get waaay too moody on them.. and then there's all the stuff about lipid profiles and liver function that drove me away from it even more.

A lot of digging on the internet led me to a forum where I found out about an alternative (here in the US, anyway) form of b/c called centchroman. Here's a link that has some pretty clear-cut information on it: http://www.gynaeonline.com/centchroman.h鈥?/a>

I've been on it for about a month with no problems so far. Since it's not marketed here you have to order it online so it takes about two weeks for it to get to you, depending where you get it from. I used AllDayChemist.com and it only costs $.83 per 8-pill pack. Shipping's a kicker but it's still less expensive than most types of birth control you get prescribed to you.

You'll read a lot about taking 2 pills/week for the first 3 months and thereafter switching to 1pill/week but I personally used a loading dose regime (2 pills first time I took it, 1 pill/week after). This has been proven to be effective as well with less side effects but different things work for different people. Your weight is a factor too; the higher dosage might work better for heavier girls. The lighter dose works for me since I'm a bit skinny. Either way it's a good idea to use backup for about 1-2 months so it has time to kick in if you're thinking about ditching the condoms sometime.

Any combination of birth control is better than just one, so there's no harm in getting spermicidal foam or a sponge. I feel safest with something that actually has a biological affect but, whatever you choose, do your research and be safe. Good on you for being responsible :)
Up the bum everytime! or really let him shoot in your face or eyes!

    good luck!

lube might help with the bum thing!

    *** farts are funny
either the bc patches or the nuvia Ring
You could always try spermicidal lube. And of course, if you and your partner really want to delve deeper, look into a diaphragm, cervical cap, etc.
Get an IUD! If you have not had a baby before you may have a harder time convicing your dr. that it is right for you. But It lasts up to 5 years and is 99.9% accurate. You can take it out any time too. I have had mine for 2 yrs and it is wonderful. I have mild spotting every 4 or 5 months. I have not had any weight gain like other forms of birth control. The mirena has a low dosage of hormones. It's great!Another plus is you do not have to remember to take a pill!
    Coil :]
The pill is the most common and most effective option, but talk to your doctor and he/she can discuss IUDs, patches, etc. Good job being safe. Good luck.
Well there are things like the implant, but thay probably aren't best if you're still quite young, i would say the pill would be your best option, as it is very effective when taken properly, and can also help with periods, but it might be worth going to see your doctor to discuss options.
