Is The Internet A Form Of Mind Control By The Ruling Classes?

Someone told me that the political and ruling classes dont use the internet personally because they have been advised of the side effects which include obsessive compulsive disorder, social disfunction and economic underperformance due to inordinate amount of time being compulsively obsessive on the net.

As such the political and ruling classes now see the internet as a way of social division and population control. Could there be any truth to this?Is The Internet A Form Of Mind Control By The Ruling Classes?
it has become quite apparent to myself over these last few years, that people are a lot more stupid than we give them credit for. as for the so called ruling elite having the foresight to get the rest of us hooked on the internet, i doubt it. they are busying themselves f**kig up the worlds economy. Is The Internet A Form Of Mind Control By The Ruling Classes?
Who the heck are the ';ruling classes';? There's no such thing! People are all essentially equal.

There's nothing any different with the internet than any other kind of media where people can become addicted or obsessed - from T.V to gaming. In fact, it's a wonderful thing which allows people to reach out from their isolation or loneliness, learn and discover, express themselves and be a part of a huge, global community.

As with anything in life, people can choose to misuse or overuse this facility.
No, the Elite gave us computers to occupy us while they continue to ruin the world. Keeps us distracted.
Where do you get this nonsense? The internet is a form of free speech. That is why countries like China and Cuba limit the internet.
Paranoid.
Only for Islamic propagandists it is!
No, it's just someone who doesn't want you to post on yahoo - take no notice! Carry on regardless!
Got any evidence for that?
