What is the safest form of birth control?

Everything I've heard of has so many lethal side effects... shots eat your bone mass and for some women turn out to not be reversible, pills cause everything from blood clots to heart attacks, patches kill women, nuva ring falls out, I mean come on. I'm 16 years old and just had a baby. I don't want this to happen again, I need to find some form of safe effective birth control, since condoms can obviously break...What is the safest form of birth control?
Condoms alone are 98% effective if used properly. They need to be on right with a resevoir for ejaculate, they need to be the right size, they need to be new, and they need to be lubricated with a condom friendly lube (oil based lubes like vaseline will weaken the condom). Leaving condoms in a wallet or car can also cause them to weaken. Never ever double up on condoms. This increases the friction between them and makes them MORE likely to break. If you use a condom and a spermicide EVERY time you have sex, there is no reason for you to get pregnant.

As for the side effects, you'll find that on tylenol, pepto bismol, and mouth wash! Somewhere one or two people had an underlying health issue and experienced a side effect. Because of this it has to be listed on the product. As long as you don't have any health issues or family histories of blood clots, etc. there is no reason you can't take birth control. As long as you and your doctor work together to find the method best for you and monitor your progress, you'll be fine.

The shot doesn't eat your bone marrow. Over several years of use it may slightly lower your bone density, but you can take a calcium supplement while using it. You shouldn't use it for more than 2 years, anyway. The period of 'infertility' lasts (at most) 9 months for long term users of Depo provera unless they have an underlying issue,

The biggest problem with the patch is that it might itch if you have sensitive skin. If that's the case, don't use it.

Nuva ring should not fall out if properly inserted. If it does, you have up to 3 hours to re-insert it safely.

I'd say your best bet is either to start with the pill, or double up spermicide and a condom every time. What is the safest form of birth control?
listen, the so called side affects are listed with every medication from advil to even some toothpastes.

Side effects do happen, but they are such a small percentage, that if you are monitored with a doctor and he is the one you talk to about what you feel happening, nothing should go wrong. also dont be nervous about switching between pills.

BIrth control pills are your best bet, but always use a condom when having sex
I've been on Nuvaring for months and it has never fallen out! I actually love it. I have't had any side effects and haven't gotten pregnant either. You probably should take a form of birth control, still use condoms, and probably spermacide just in case. You are 16. You don't need the responsibility of children.
Abstinence. But since that's unlikely, I would say your best bet is pills. ANYTHING you ingest can have a side effect. They have to put blood clots and heart attacks under the warnings because someone, at one time or another, had that side-effect. Most likely due to a preexisting condition.

I would go with pills. While condoms do break, they're good to use with pills as double protection.
combine birth control with a condom.

the symptoms you are talking about are VERY rare %26amp; if you have any signs at all you just switch to something else. i mean really, its either deal with what you've got avaliable to you or don't have sex.
There's a lot of scare mongering out there but really they're all pretty damn safe - I've never even *heard* of some of these so-called side effects! Try a few methods out with the help of your Doc and pick which one is best for you. You won't die, I assure you!
Oral to completion, then swallowing......
Keeping your legs closed.
an aspirin held firmly between your knees
if you're 16 and just had a baby you shouldn't be having sex at all. but if you don't want to use any of those you listed. double wrap it and use spermicide cream
