Hi its the first time i use any type of birth control form?

and i have been using nuva ring for a week and 2 days, i haven't had sex during this past week because i've read it says it becomes effective after one week i would like to know how true this is and if its safe from now on.Hi its the first time i use any type of birth control form?
i would say if you are really worried about it and don't wanna get pregnant, i would use backup methods until you feel safe and secure that you wont. they say a week but if you are uncomfortable with that there isn't any hurt in a condom or two.Hi its the first time i use any type of birth control form?
I would really use a condom as a back up method right now but kudos to you for knowing yopu are not ready for a child and being responsible enough to take measures to make sure it dont happen
You have to used a back up method (condoms) for 7 full days after starting hormonal contraceptives. That means if you put your ring in on Sunday, you are not protected until the following Monday.
If it was inserted correctly then it should be ok
I'm also on the Nuva Ring and my doctor told me to wait two weeks before having sex with out using protection so i would at least wait two weeks or longer.
