Does the calendar or rhythym method work well as a form of birth control?

I dont like condoms (just unnatural). would this work? I know there is a product called CycleBeads, which helps track the menstrual periods and is supposed to be 95% effective.Does the calendar or rhythym method work well as a form of birth control?
If you use that then I would also use the pull out method. I get irritated with condoms and my husband and i use the pull out method and it has worked for us for 7 years now.Does the calendar or rhythym method work well as a form of birth control?
Doctors will all tell you no, it's not reliable.

If you are planning on eventually having kids with your partner, and would not be distraut if you became pregnant, then you can try the rhythym method, but it's a very tough schedule to follow.

My neighbor tried it, after her first was born she didn't want to get on Birth Control pills so they did a Natural Planning method involving rules such as ';no sex before 6 p.m. within a week of ovulation'; and basal temp monitoring. She got pregnant with her second about 3 months before they were going to try EVEN THOUGH she was still nursing her first; She then got an IUD to prevent getting pregnant a third time.

So no, it doesn't work well if you are really trying to not get pregnant.
No, it is not very reliable. Which is why it's generally only used by couples in a stable relationship who might prefer not to have a child at the moment, but it's no huge deal if they did. It's not a method to be used if you really don't want to get pregnant.
Which means there is a 5% probability you can become pregnant. Which I did by the way, with my first daughter.

Yes, but unless your menses are very regular, you can get a surprise.
If you use cervical mucus observation along with rhythm, it will work about as well as condoms, but you have to pay attention and say, ';No,'; when you'd really like to say, ';Yes,';

As for pull-out, lots of people who did that are now parents. If they have made it for 7 years, well, I know someone who smoked 2 packs a day for 50 years, never got lung cancer, and lived to be 84. I wouldn't want to take that chance, though.
Nope neither one is an effective form of birth control. 95% effective isn't 100% and with the world's population as it is a hell of a lot of people fall into that 5% category that do get pregnant...

I know of a family who used the ';rythym method of birth control. She was pregnant 15 times and had 12 live births...

But since you seem to want to be ';natural';...well the natural consequences of having unprotected sex IS pregnancy, so make up your mind what it is you want...Natural or more effective than 95% birth control?
rhythum method seldom works, use birth control pills and men should always wear condoms unless you are married to him. i dont think any counting beads can ever be 95% after all birth control pills are only about that effective.
