in all religions , there is the option of Eternal damnation, thus scaring people blindly into their greedy clutches, all in the name of their god or gods.

You know there are other religions other than Christianity that don't have the same ideals, and certainly don't have the same need for their followers to always be apologising for their sins?





Religion is often something people cling to to feel safe. Governments in the past have manipulated this, sure, but it's not an all or nothing thing.
God is a fictional character/idea designed to explain the (at one point) inexplicable world to the layperson and, in later times, to control populations by instilling morals and values.





What Jesus accomplished in life:


-Take up carpentry


-learn some magic tricks (Get really gullible people to watch)


-Casually preach good will (But make his message unique)


-Come up with an overly elaborate back-story about where 'mankind'' came from (Have it involve talking snakes, people love that stuff)


-Stage his own death


-';Come back to life'; (Wink, wink)


-Say that he had a good reason for dying (Work it into his whole 'elaborate back story for mankind' thing somehow


-Flee to Mexico after saying he's heading off to Heaven (Or some other utopia he made up)


-Get some guys to hand out pamphlets


-Start a few wars, divide up society, hold back technology and the scientific progression of mankind, deem a few natural behaviors 'unacceptable'
Doubtful since many governments ban religion when tyrants take over. But that's just based on history.
