What is the best form of birth control for a person who has epilepsy?

i take medication for it and i am fully controlled but just wondering if the shot or an iud or just the pill is the best............What is the best form of birth control for a person who has epilepsy?
IUD without any hormones or female condoms would be the best. I would not recommend any contraception with hormones. All contraceptive drugs/pills can interact with your medication. Read all details about contraception, IUDs and female condoms in http://www.menstrual-cycle.info

This was actually discussed on another board, and I believe the suggestion was non hormonal birth control such as IUD, condoms, sponge. Your doctor is a good source, but not the only source, for this information. Look at several good sites such as Planned Parenthood, Web MD and such to find out what is actually available. Your doc may not even know about some of the newer stuff and while it may not be best for you, at least you aren't missing something that could be a good fit. Ultimately, though, except for the sponge and condoms, your doctor has to prescribe anything that you do get.
You truly shouldn't take any birth control pills. Many don't say anything but a woman my mom works with got called by a Dr that her daughter, who is very health and active, died from taking birth control pills. I suggest just using rubbers. I know if you get pregnant it will increase your epilepsy. The birth control pills basically make your mind and body feel like it's pregnant....so it's kind of a lose, lose situation.

It's better to be safe then dead.
Hmm, i think you'd want to ask the doctor that. I'm sure that BC pills don't really interfere with other medications, Its just the OTHER meds that might interfere with the birth control. I know taking antibiotics while on the pill can make the pill not work.
Seizure medication and birth control can be used together....choose whatever works best for you.
The Depo shot worked wonderfully for me. =] It all just depends on you as a person, but I think the depo is what most doctors reccommended =P
