Is using birth control a form of abortion?

i dont believe in abortion, but i do believe in using birth control to protect myself and i always thought that using birth control didnt kill the baby but prevented you from getting pregnant.

what are your thoughts on the subject? Is using birth control a form of abortion?
birth control will not KILL the baby, it SHOULD prevent you from becoming pregnant if you take it correctly and aren't taking anything else that would lower the effectiveness...there are herbs and other meds that can jeopardize the way BC works so be careful. If you want to be really safe use a condom too.Is using birth control a form of abortion?
Birth control pills prevent an egg from being released. No egg, no fertilization. No fertilization, no embryo/fetus. No embryo/fetus, no abortion.
I do not believe in using any birth control, but BC pills do not actually kill babies, because they are never formed.
No it just liberates women from unwanted pregnancies that can result in unwanted children or abortions.
Birth control prevents the egg and the sperm from forming. Abortion kills the egg and sperm that is already formed. Big difference. Prevention, killing.
u are right it prevents you from getting pregnant if used correctly.
like... duhhhh
there has to be a baby , to have an abortion. if you use birth control , you are preventing a baby from getting there.

But if you need to ask this question, you are obviously not well informed , and maybe you should not be having sex.
Birth control prevents any fertilized egg from implanting in the uterine lining by hormonally telling your body that it is already pregnant. Since there is no potential for life to exist (It's essentially like having your period), this is not a form of abortion.
is using a condom a form of preventing STD's(sti)?

is just prevents a baby being made. it doesn't KILL anything.
No, it keeps you from conceiving. (getting pregnant) you have to be pregnant to have an abortion.
some people think some types are. particularly the types that prevent a fertilized egg from implanting (like the IUD %26amp; even the pill claims to do this as a secondary or tertiary way of preventing pregnancy)

imo, i dont think any form of contraceptive is a form of abortion at all.
Birth control is meant to kill the sperm before it fertilizes the egg. Therefore, it is not a form of abortion because abortion is the killing of an already concieved, unborn child.
