What form of birth control is the best?

i am losing my virginity to my boyfriend in february (my 16th birthday) and i need to know which pill is the most effective? it takes around 3 months for it to start working so i want to get it now. we'll also use condoms every time. any suggestions? What form of birth control is the best?
Um, I believe swallowing is the best form. What form of birth control is the best?
Levlen is usually the first contraceptive pill the doctor will prescribe to you, as it is a combined hormone pill containing estrogen and progesterone. For most women this pill will not have any side effects and protects you from falling pregnant. Note this drug will be effective against unwanted pregnancy after 7-10 days of active pills. This drug is 99.99% effective against unwanted pregnancy when used correctly.

If using condoms as well it will be extremely unlikely to fall pregnant.

Doctors will prescribe to you different forms of contraceptive depending on how you react to lavlen. like less strong if you experience weight gain, acne, nausea and if you experience excessive bleeding whilst on your period.

There are progesterone only pills which are just as effective but less popular.
This should be in Women's Health, and it's an issue for you and your doctor to decide. Nobody here can tell you what is best for you...only what worked well or not for them.

My preference was the injection (used it over 10 yrs)...but some women hate it or don't do well on it. There are all different kinds of birth control pills, the patch, the vaginal ring, diaphgragm, cervical cap, etc. Various hormonal and barrier methods you need to learn about as far as effectivity, side effects and such. FYI: you are considered protected by the pill after 1 month (pack) of use, even though it actually takes less than that. You are considered protected when using the injection, from the time you get the injection (immediately). Other b/c methods will vary as to when they are considered to be as effective as they're going to be.

You can look up birth control online and read up on the various methods and some basic info so when you see your doctor you'll have some questions already worked out.

Also, have your own health insurance or money (not your folks) so if your chosen method(s) fail, YOU can afford treatment for pregnancy or STD/STI. Your folks shouldn't have to pay one penny toward your choice to have sex...it's an adult behavior and if you think you are ready, then you need to be adult enough to handle any consequences.

Good luck...if you can't pay, don't play.
They all do the job just as well as eachother.

My girlfriend has been on it for a few months now, and we dont use a condom and we've been fine!

So you'll be doubly fine

good luck too, and have fun ;) =]
the only 100% method would be abstinence but for the best method for you you should talk to a medical Professional.they can work with you to determine the best method.
Not havin' sex- that's the best hon- it's the only one that's a hundred percent safe! Peace and love! Be lucky! :)
Here the answer if your serious.............

You shouldn't be having sex. Your a little girl. Grow up first.

Here's the answer if this is a sick joke.............

stop being immature,get a life,and grow up!!!
Go to the family planning clinic and discuss it confidentially and free with a professional.
tubectomy
leave the weiner alone
Abstinence is the best form of birth control, and it's free!
Just use a condom...i hear those birth control pills aren't good, they mess with your body
blimey nothing like romance is there...
abstinence

Don't do it. You'll regret it. You're too young
Check with your doctor...he or she is your best card to play!
