Ladies Only! What is the best form of birth control a 21 year old?

I'm 21, and have never been on birth control...how do you get a prescription, and is there a pill where I can miss my period? Thanks!Ladies Only! What is the best form of birth control a 21 year old?
There is a pill that gives you only one or two periods a year... my roommate is on it, your doctor will be able to tell you about it.

To get a prescription, you just need to go see a gynecologist. Or, if you have a Planned Parenthood in your area you can go there (they can offer you free/reduced birth control and exams depending on your economic status). Just tell them you're there for a birth control consultation. They may want to give you a pelvic exam first, but I didn't have to have one when I got prescribed.

If you have time each day where you can take the pill then that should work for you. Some people are more busy/forgetful and in those cases there's an implant that goes in your arm called the Implanon and a vaginally inserted monthly ring called the Nuvaring.

You have to see an obgyn and have a pap smear before he will prescribe a birth control.

Seasonique is supposed to be as effective as other birth control pills and gives you only 4 periods a year. I have no idea how safe it is, or if there are greater side effects.
im on the pill and im 21.

Im on a low dose pill which means the chance of major side effects are slim..and if they are any they are really minor.

my frist time on BC was the patch and it was horrible. so i switched to the pill and so far i like it.

Im on the generic version of Loestrin24..it works just as well and is way cheaper.

you can get the prescription for the pill from your doctor..and depending on when your last pap smear was..you may have to get a new one..or if you have a new doctor.

the pill Seasonique..is a pill where you can get 3 periods a month.

you should check out their website.

hope this helps.
You get a prescription from your gyno. Seasonique and a couple of others make it so you only have your period for a couple times a year.
