What is the coal industry doing to control pollution and toxic gases that form acid rain?

This is for school, it is extra credit for science class. And i cant find it anywhere, so if anyone knows the answer or a website that talks all about it plz tell me. Thank youWhat is the coal industry doing to control pollution and toxic gases that form acid rain?
The Coal industry in and of its self is neither contributing to and or responsible for acid rain. The Coal industry as defined an the producers of Coal . However the Power industry as defined by those producing electricity to include plants that do so by burning Coal are now required to put large high tech filters on the smoke stacks to gather and contain the pollution that is cast off by this burning of Coal

Much Coal contains Sulfur and when this sulfur is burned it leaves sulfur particles in the air that when combined with moisture it creates sulfuric acid or acid rain so these filters are designed to prevent this sulfur from ever getting into the air in the first place .

Now the Coal industry does spray water on the coal to prevent Coal dust from escaping into the atmosphere , this could be considered one thing they are doing to prevent acid rain as well as preventing sudden fires .What is the coal industry doing to control pollution and toxic gases that form acid rain?
