In your opinion, what is the best form of birth control after having a baby?

I'm also planning to breastfeed, so I know I can't use the pill, shot, etc. or any other hormone altering methods.

I also have very irregular periods, so natural family planning isn't an option.

I've heard of something called the mini pill, anyone have experience with that?

Thanks! In your opinion, what is the best form of birth control after having a baby?
The mini pill is one option, its progesterone only, so is fine while breast feeding. However one big negative is that it is very sensitive and needs to be taken at the same time EVERY day without fail, otherwise is unaffective. Now I know that when I have my baby there is no way I'll remember to do this as my mind will be taken up with baby related new mum things! Have you considered the 'coil' or IDU, this is incerted in to the Uterus and you don't have to worry about it for a few years.....

I think this is what I'm going to go for, but talk to your healthcare provider if you need more advise.

Edit: I've just noticed the price, I live in the UK so its free on the NHS, making that sort of decision easier. In your opinion, what is the best form of birth control after having a baby?
It actually depends on your lifestyle. If you're not quite busy then taking everyday pills is right for you. If you want more information about these kinds of things, try this site I found: http://www.PlanAFamily.com. It's a nice looking site, with good information for mothers.
