There is less than a 3% chance of becoming pregnant when using condoms consistently and correctly. They also are the most effective method to prevent STDs :)

Just make sure you use condoms consistently and correctly every time. And remember Lambskin condoms only protect against Pregnancy, not STI's. Here is a good resource for the correct and proper way to use a condom http://www.ripnroll.com/proper.htm

They have been very effective for my husband and I. We used them for 7 years and didn't get pregnant. When we were ready to start our family we ditched the condoms, and we are now the proud parents of a 3 1/2 month old son. Yes, there is always that 3% risk, but it's a risk we are willing to take. I don't know that their is any true form of birth control that is truly 100% effective except abstinence.
my husband and i had sex one time in a month and used a condom. my beautiful little girl was born 9mo later.
so at 18 mo my son had a little sister.
Condoms tend to be about 90% effects when used correctly. The best type to get are well known brands (Durex, Trojan) and then make sure they have lubricant (the condom will be less likely to rip) and with spermicide.
If you were to ask my family, they aren't very. 2 of my cousins, and both my sister and I were the result of broken condoms (fortunately both my aunt and uncle, and my parents were married at the time). If I were you, I would really look into other birth control methods, there is an IUD you can get that works for up to 5 years (I am looking into them as well), and as far as I know they don't have hormones in them if that is what you are worried about. The doctor puts it in, and you are good to go, so to speak, I would use a condom too though, its something that might be worth looking into.
Use condoms is great! But know your cycle and plan to stay sex free during those days. 28 day cycle stay sex free day 12-16. Oral is fine you cant get prego that way but keep it clean and care full.
great job being safe!!!!
I would like to introduce you to my 10 year old daughter Rachel she is my ';condom baby';.
They are better then not using anything but they are not 100%. If you can use spermicide I suggest that you do. Personally I am allergic to it so that's why I didn't use it.
Condoms ar 97% effective in preventing pregnancy. The way i see it is: lets say there are 100 sperm....3 would get past a condom.....but in reality a man ejackulates about 10,000 sperm...so you do the math on that.
The only 100% effective way is abstinence. Condoms provide some protection, but it's still very possible to get pregnant with them.
