im on depo provera but i am gaining more weight than i can take off with diet and exercise. my husband and i dont have sex often, maybe once every couple of weeks at the longest. i dont want to take anything too invasive, like the nuvaring. what can i do? we are to the point where im willing to ask my husband to go through with a vesectomy.What form of birth control can i take that wont make me gain weight?
I have always heard that Depo causes the most weight gain. It is a possible risk of ALL hormonal contraceptives though. I was on the pill Alesse for 2 1/2 years and I didnt gain any weight. I am now on Nuvaring and have not gained weight from it either. I'm on orthotrycyclin, well the generic of that anyways. I've gained some weight but that's because of my eating habits and its only been 5 lbs in the year and a half that i've been taking it. Discuss this with your doctor they will know best what to put you on.

someone suggested the patch but that can make you very sick as its a very high dose off hormones.


your best bet is too ask your doctor im on yasmin and that has done nothing too my weight and ive been on it nearly a year now
